Privacy policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
This policy explains what information The Southern Register ("we", "us") collects through shop.thesouthernregister.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and who helps us process it. We are based in Texas, United States. Questions: Lisa@thesouthernregister.com.
What we collect
- When you buy: your name and email address, the products you bought, the amounts paid, and the payment and customer reference numbers our payment processor gives us.
- Card details: you enter them into a secure form provided by Stripe. Your full card number goes to Stripe, not to us, and we don't store it. Stripe saves your card on file with your Stripe customer record so a one-click add-on offered right after checkout can be charged without re-entering it. Your card is only charged when you choose to buy.
- When you request the free download: your name and email address.
- Email delivery records: whether an order email was sent and, if sending failed, the error message.
- Technical information: like most websites, our hosting and payment providers automatically receive information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security, fraud prevention and to operate the Site.
How we use it
- To process your payment and deliver what you bought, including your download page and order emails.
- To send the free download you requested.
- To answer your questions and handle refund requests.
- To keep records of sales for accounting, tax and legal purposes, and to prevent fraud.
We don't sell your personal information. We don't currently send marketing emails. If that changes, we'll update this policy first, and every marketing email will include a way to unsubscribe.
Who processes it for us
We use these service providers to run the Site. Each one handles your information under its own privacy policy and terms:
- Stripe processes payments and stores your payment details and order history.
- Supabase stores our buyer, purchase and free-download sign-up records in a database.
- Resend sends our emails: order delivery emails and the free download email.
- Netlify hosts the Site and runs the server code that handles checkout and downloads.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Cookies, tracking and browser storage
- Tracking pixels and analytics: we don't currently use any advertising or analytics pixels on the Site, including the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. If we add them, we'll update this policy before they go live.
- Stripe: the checkout and add-on pages load Stripe's payment form, which may set cookies and collect device information for fraud prevention and security.
- Browser storage: after checkout, the Site keeps your private order link in your browser's session storage so the download page can find your order. It's cleared when you close the browser tab.
Your download link
Your download page uses a private link that we email to you. Anyone with that link can open your download page, so please don't share it.
How long we keep it
We keep purchase records for as long as we need them to provide your downloads, handle refunds and meet our accounting, tax and legal obligations. We keep free-download sign-ups until you ask us to remove them.
Your choices
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing Lisa@thesouthernregister.com. We may need to keep some records where the law requires it, such as records of payments. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. Contact us and we'll respond as required.
Children
The Site and our products are for real estate professionals. They aren't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Security
We use established providers and limit access to our records, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes
We'll post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date at the top.
